This is my second last rotation for the year and it's meant to be general med, however the hospital is practically an aged care facility so nothing very exciting to look forward to...The good thing is that all they really expect from me is to participate in the ward rounds, help them out with admissions and discharges, and I am free to go home...Early finishes, suits me!! Today I got round to staying for 2 hours-Succesfully inserted an IV cannula on first go after 6 weeks break, and this was an old man with fragile veins- great boost for my confidence. I am finally starting to feel like I can actually do IVs OK. :) Oh, and did I mention I did not even spill a single drop of blood. Boring for you guys, but great achievement for me :D
Anyways- Did I mention I've been proposed to act in a short film that is to participate in Sikhnet youth film festival. I am so excited!! Yesterday when I was at work, two Singhs walked up to me and wanted to talk (I know one of them from gurudwara- Gagan used to tutor this guy a while back). This was bit of a surprise as usually people only come to me when they want to see Gagan..Haha. To summarise, one of them is making a short film and wanted me to come along as I guess people see it inspirational thing that a white girl wears dastaar and (tries) to follow sikhi when there's so many indian punjabi guys born in sikh families cutting their hair..So, we will meet up some time this week to shoot a few scenes. It is fantastic to participate as I've been keenly following the sikhnet film festivals in the past 2 years and always wanted to participate. Will keep you updated how my film stardom goes!! :)
Finally, I am posting a few photos from our road trip to NSW last weekend...
Winnie and me in the car after a day of skiing

This is a cool photo of all of us in the car...VW Passat...could be my future car...looooved the seat warmers :D

Posing with skiis...it was a fun day (at least for me!) although the weather wasn't the best...cloudy and snowy, sun only showed up for about 15 minutes...
